La La La Human Steps

For me, heading out in the evening, my Cali style, means literally stepping out in the evening as apparently I may be the only person is this town without a car. Tonight I wasn’t the only one doing the Hollywood shuffle. The Montreal dance troupe, La La La Human Steps, were doing their own foot work tonight, as lots of it, and most of it en pointe. Known for the super human/super hero speed movement of hand, head, arm, and foot, alternating with beautiful, flowing gestures, the choreography of Édouard Lock mesmerizes, confounds, wows, and addicts you, all at the same time…and suddenly the performance is over.

Amelia is from 2002; Lock is both choreographer and film maker (this is just 6 minutes of a much longer piece/film).
